Popular content creator and Bigg Boss OTT 2 runner-up Abhishek Malhan, broadly recognized by his online moniker Fukra Insaan, has expanded his ongoing humanitarian efforts for the families severely affected by the recent floods in Assam. The state has been grappling with extensive destruction following torrential rains that began in mid-July, causing rivers to overflow and submerging entire communities across key regions like Golaghat, Sivasagar, and Jorhat. While relief operations have focused primarily on providing basic human necessities like food, shelter, and medical care, Abhishek chose to extend his assistance toward restoring local heritage and places of worship that hold immense cultural and spiritual value for the community.
During his recent visit to Simaluguri in the flood-ravaged Sivasagar district, Abhishek encountered a damaged Hanuman temple where the structure had collapsed, leaving the idol surrounded by flood debris. Moved by the site and the emotional attachment of the villagers, he immediately pledged to rebuild the sacred venue. Taking to his official social media handles, Abhishek shared a video depicting the ground realities of the site, where he performed a traditional coconut-breaking ceremony to mark the foundation ritual alongside local residents. He personally distributed food plates to the villagers and spent time listening to their hardships, assuring them that the reconstruction project would commence without delay.
To turn this vision into reality, Abhishek initially pledged an individual contribution of ₹5 lakh toward the reconstruction fund. Inspired by his initiative, the True Hope Foundation joined hands with him and contributed an additional ₹15 lakh to scale up the efforts. Together, the joint venture successfully pooled a total sum of ₹20 lakh to construct a fully restored, resilient structure capable of withstanding future natural calamities. Reflecting on the opportunity, Abhishek shared that being able to contribute to the rebuilding of the Hanuman temple was a spiritual saubhagya, emphasizing that the opportunity to serve the community in such a sacred capacity mattered far more to him than any monetary milestone.
This temple restoration project comes as a continuation of Abhishek Malhan’s broader relief campaign across Assam’s worst-affected districts. Over the past week, he has been actively coordinating ground-level distribution drives, delivering essential household items including standing fans, gas stoves, water purifiers, and mattresses to displaced families in vulnerable areas. Beyond immediate aid, Abhishek has committed to building seven homes from scratch for families who lost everything to the floodwaters and funding the repair of several damaged e-rickshaws to help local drivers regain their livelihoods. His proactive approach has garnered widespread appreciation from fans and fellow creators, serving as a inspiring example of digital influence driving real-world community impact.
