Ashoke Pandit Reveals Aamir Khan Tried To Resolve Don 3 Feud Says Ranveer Singh Should Reimburse Losses

The Indian film industry has been deeply divided over the intense controversy surrounding the action franchise movie Don 3 and the sudden exit of actor Ranveer Singh from the high-profile project. Sharing major behind-the-scenes insights into this unfolding corporate drama, veteran filmmaker and chief adviser of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees, Ashoke Pandit, recently revealed that top Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan actually stepped forward to try and settle the bitter feud quietly before the major cinema unions had to officially step into the matter. Pandit explained that multiple well-known industry figures actively tried to mediate the growing differences between the actor and the production house, Excel Entertainment, hoping to reach a smooth resolution, but those private discussion rounds unfortunately failed to deliver any positive outcome.

According to the details shared by Pandit, the regulatory film body became officially involved only after receiving a formal structural complaint directly from the director Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani. The creative team at Excel Entertainment approached the association with extensive financial documentation, expense sheets, and direct text messages showing that they had already spent a massive sum of approximately forty-five crore rupees on necessary pre-production work. The film unit was reportedly just three short weeks away from flying out to start their international shooting schedule when Ranveer Singh unexpectedly chose to walk away from the committed project. Pandit noted that while spending such an immense amount on pre-production is standard practice for a grand three-hundred crore budget film, a sudden last-minute walkout places an enormous financial burden on the investors.

Defending the initial decision to issue a strict non-cooperation directive against the actor, which was later successfully withdrawn after discussions with other major producer guilds, Pandit clarified that the media completely misinterpreted their stance by calling it an absolute ban. He emphasized that the trade union does not function as a legal court and holds no authority to ban any individual, but they do have the full right to state that their daily wage workers, technicians, and camera crews will choose not to cooperate on future sets if agreements are broken. The association had sent multiple official letters and reminders to Ranveer Singh over a period of nearly one and a half months to hear his side of the narrative, but they only received a single response from his team that questioned the actual jurisdiction of the federation.

The chief adviser stressed that the entertainment industry operates entirely on mutual trust and professional commitment, warning that letting artists walk away from projects without any real consequences sets a very dangerous precedent for the entire ecosystem. He mentioned that while Ranveer Singh might have multiple valid personal reasons for deciding not to do the film, accountability demands that any financial losses caused by breaking a professional promise must be fully reimbursed to the producers. Pandit added that a massive production banner like Excel Entertainment might survive such a severe setback, but if a smaller independent producer faced a sudden forty-five crore loss, they would be completely ruined, forced to sell their family home, and driven to financial ruin, which is why the federation is now working to establish strict standard operating procedures for all actors, directors, and technicians alike.
