Today’s episode begins with Baapji announcing that he is giving Mihir three months time to repay the loan. He adds that this period will also be used for the wedding preparations of Dev and Saloni. Baapji clearly states that he is taking this decision purely on his trust in Tulsi and once again places responsibility in her hands.
Parul informs everyone that dinner is ready and the family heads to the dining area. However Noina already filled with anger and frustration quietly walks away. Venting out to Suchi Noina says she doesn’t understand why everything always ends up revolving around Tulsi. She Convinced Dev’s to accept the marriage proposal but Tulsi once again became the great one and she openly says she hates it.
Engagement Plan
Gaurav suggests that since things have now settled they can look for an auspicious date after three months for Dev and Saloni’s wedding. Kanta agrees and adds that the wedding should happen soon after Saloni’s exams. Gaurav then casually proposes that since everything is anyway moving fast they should at least do a small engagement now.
Baapji smiles and says Gaurav has spoken exactly what was on his mind. He asks Mihir and Tulsi if they can perform the ritual. Mihir hesitates saying everything is happening too quickly and that they have to leave for Mumbai the next morning for exhibition. Gaurav argues that since they are leaving tomorrow it would be better to complete the ritual today as everything is already prepared.
Tulsi raises a concern pointing out that Dev’s maternal father and grandfather are not present and it may not feel right without them. Baapji counters by saying Delhi isn’t far and a phone call is enough to take their blessings. He asks Mihir to call Hemant.
Hemant’s Trust in Mihir and Tulsi
Mihir speaks to Hemant and informs him about the proposal. Hemant says that Baapji considering Dev worthy of this relationship itself is a matter of pride for them. However he explains that he cannot come because he has a very important court case the next day and Sahil is helping him with it. Pooja has also gone to Vrindavan so none of them can attend.
Baapji says it’s alright and mentions that Parul wanted the ritual today which is why they suggested it. Hemant responds that if everyone wishes they can at least do the engagement. Mihir again expresses discomfort saying Pooja and Sahil are not present. Hemant calmly replies that the most important thing is that Mihir and Tulsi are there. He says that for their family Mihir and Tulsi matter more than anyone else and requests them to go ahead with the engagement.
Baapji says this is what true family values look like. He feels reassured that Saloni’s marriage is being fixed in the right household. He announces that the engagement will take place in the evening. Tulsi agrees and even Mihir finally consents.
From a distance Noina and Suchi watch everything unfold. Suchi comments sarcastically that it seems destiny wants Mihir and Tulsi to be united again as they are doing everything together like a husband and wife.
Noina Tries to Stop the Engagement
Later Tulsi informs Angad about Dev and Saloni’s alliance and mentions that she is worried because there is still a lot of work left for the exhibition. As she speaks Noina arrives forcing Tulsi to disconnect the call.
Noina tells Tulsi that she wanted to speak to her. She pretends to reassure Tulsi saying she shouldn’t take any tension regarding Dev’s engagement because Tulsi has already done the hardest part. She claims she will convince Baapji with some excuse to postpone the engagement.
Noina then adds that she understands Tulsi must be feeling awkward seeing her irritation with Mihir. She admits Mihir’s words about being happy with her were true but says it was unnecessary to say them aloud. She claims she is not the kind of woman who feels happy seeing another woman in pain and insists that Tulsi has already suffered enough. She requests Tulsi to refuse the engagement now saying Dev’s real parents can come from Delhi later and then everything can be done properly.
Tulsi Stands Firm
Gayatri overhears the conversation and intervenes warning Tulsi not to refuse the engagement. She reminds her that Baapji has given time for loan repayment and if Tulsi backs out now Baapji may withdraw his support leaving no way to save Shantiniketan.
Noina snaps at Gayatri saying she doesn’t understand what she is trying to say and should stay out of the matter. Tulsi calmly asks Gayatri to speak her mind. Gayatri says everything is finally falling into place because of Tulsi and believes things should continue as they are.
Noina asks if Tulsi really deserves to suffer endlessly. She claims she doesn’t see Tulsi as her rival and only wants to delay the engagement out of sympathy. Tulsi finally loses patience and questions Noina’s sudden concern reminding her that six years ago she never showed such sympathy.
Tulsi firmly declares that she hasn’t come back for Mihir and that Noina has no reason to feel threatened. She says she is here only for her children and Shantiniketan and once everything is settled she will leave. Tulsi’s confidence visibly unsettles Noina who begins to sweat. Tulsi walks away.
Gayatri then taunts Noina admitting she once thought Noina was confident, modern, and capable, while Tulsi was just a simple housewife. But today she realizes Tulsi’s strength, self-respect, and moral values are far greater. She points out that Noina despite having everything is scared because she built her life on someone else’s rights. Frustrated Noina tells Gayatri to take her medicines and leaves.
Dev’s Greed and Saloni’s Simplicity
Dev boasts to his friend over the phone about Saloni’s wealth saying his life is now set. He later demands the TV remote from Parth who mocks him for being lazy. Dev shamelessly replies that he is marrying precisely so he doesn’t have to work.
Noina calls Dev aside and shocks him by saying the engagement should be postponed. Dev is stunned. He dreams aloud about a grand engagement, expensive gifts, envelopes of cash, diamonds from Baapji and ruling like Ranvijay. Noina looks increasingly frustrated.
The servant brings clothes sent by Parul for the engagement and Dev excitedly selects his outfit.
The Engagement Ceremony
The family gathers for the engagement. Baapji asks Tulsi to begin the rituals. Tulsi completes the chunni and jewellery ritual with Parul. Mitali sarcastically comments on Dev’s luck for getting such a rich partner comparing it to her own fate. Hrithik shuts her down saying he no longer lets her words affect him.
Dev and Saloni exchange rings. Kanta complains about the ring being too small while Parul explains everything was arranged in a hurry. During the photo session Dev keeps staring at his ring. Saloni asks if he didn’t like it. Dev surprises her by saying he doesn’t care about rings or diamonds he only wants her. Saloni feels deeply touched.
Gayatri hugs Tulsi and thanks her. Tulsi says she only wanted the children to be happy and peace to return to the house. She admits this was all an act and once it end everyone will return to their own lives.
A Shocking Moment for Pari
Pari angrily calls Ranvijay, accusing him of ignoring her. He warns her to keep quiet and threatens her. Tulsi notices Pari’s fear and gently asks if Ranvijay ever raises his hand on her. Pari is left stunned.
Precap: Tulsi tells Mihir that Bandhej is not just a business but a mission to make women financially independent. Noina mocks her and challenges her saying she will never be able to make Bandhej successful. Tulsi confidently accepts the challenge leaving Mihir proud and smiling.
