Veteran Telugu actor Nagarjuna has revealed that he takes extreme security measures to safeguard his personal information from digital threats. Speaking at the Suraksha Ka Tiranga Cyber Awareness Programme organized by the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) in Hyderabad, the star admitted that being a public figure makes him constantly worried about cybercriminals gaining unauthorized access to his device. To counter this, Nagarjuna explained that he strictly avoids taking or storing any photographs on his smartphone. He added that he routinely changes his phone password every fifteen days and resets his home Wi-Fi password every one to two months to ensure potential hackers cannot breach his private network. Highlighting his heightened sense of caution, he remarked that if a celebrity like him has to take such drastic steps, one can only imagine how vulnerable innocent senior citizens might be to complex online scams.
During the event, Nagarjuna also shared his personal experiences with cyber fraud to raise awareness among the public. He recalled a scam call he received a few years ago where a fraudster posed as a bank official attempting to persuade him to invest in stocks and equities. Sensing something suspicious about the aggressive pitch, Nagarjuna refused to give in to the caller’s tactics. He further warned the audience about modern cybercrimes like the “digital arrest” scam and fake customs calls claiming that packages containing illegal contraband were shipped in a victim’s name. Revealing that one of his own relatives had fallen victim to a hours-long digital arrest scam before contacting the Cyber Crime department, Nagarjuna urged fans and citizens to remain highly vigilant, update their passwords frequently, and immediately report suspicious calls to cybercrime authorities.
