Debut director Uday Chauhan is all set for the theatrical release of his upcoming comedy-drama film Pallaburusu, jointly produced by Annapurna Studios and EPIC Studios. Ahead of its worldwide release, the filmmaker sat down for a candid interview to share his journey and discuss the immense support he received from veteran superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni and actor Naga Chaitanya. The rooted story, which features Sudhakar Reddy and Muralidhar Goud in lead roles, explores the emotional dynamics between a father and son after an unusual complaint over a missing toothbrush escalates into a deeper legal and emotional journey. Speaking about the initial reactions from the Akkineni family, Uday revealed that both stars were thoroughly impressed by the authenticity, warmth, and subtle humor woven throughout the script and final cut.
During the interactive session, Uday Chauhan recalled his memorable narration to senior actor Nagarjuna, who praised the film as deeply heart-touching and emotionally resonant. Nagarjuna not only backed the film’s vision through Annapurna Studios but also offered constructive feedback during the editing phase to sharpen the narrative pace. Similarly, actor Naga Chaitanya expressed his delight after watching the promotional content and hearing the story, describing it as an exceptionally sweet, grounded, and relatable tale. Producer Supriya Yarlagadda also showed immediate enthusiasm for the project from the very first pitch, noting that backing such a rustic and sincere narrative was an opportunity she did not want to miss.
Reflecting on the creation of Pallaburusu, Uday explained that the core inspiration came from his personal observations of rural life in Telangana, where simple everyday disputes among villagers often mask deep care and affection for one another. Set in a vibrant village backdrop near Siddipet, the narrative balances witty comedic timing with earnest family values, ensuring that the underlying message remains engaging without feeling preachy. The director expressed immense confidence in his lead actors, Sudhakar Reddy and Muralidhar Goud, noting that their natural screen presence and flawless dialect elevated the emotional beats of the story. With positive feedback from industry stalwarts and mounting curiosity among moviegoers, Uday Chauhan remains thrilled to bring this heartwarming family entertainer to cinema screens worldwide.
