Bollywood actress Preity Zinta recently hit back at a viral paparazzi video that claimed she ignored superstar Aamir Khan during the promotional events for their upcoming film Batwara 1947. The incident unfolded after a popular paparazzi account shared a clip showing the actress stepping out of her vanity van and asking photographers for directions amid the crowd. As she walked past Aamir Khan, who was standing near his own vanity van, the two did not interact, prompting the account to share the footage with a clickbait caption suggesting friction between the stars. Refusing to let the misleading narrative spread, Preity directly commented on the post to set the record straight and shut down rumors of any awkwardness.
Calling out the media handle for manufacturing drama, Preity explained that she simply did not notice Aamir because she was in a major hurry to complete her indoor shots and catch a flight for ongoing promotional commitments. The actress strongly criticized the trend of creating negative narratives for views, stating that clickbait content is not cool and asking photographers not to expect her to pause for pictures if the intent is to promote unnecessary negativity. Reaffirming her immense admiration for the actor-producer, she emphasized that she holds a lot of love and respect for Aamir, adding that framing the situation in such a manner was not in good taste.
The buzz around the promotional events is particularly high as Batwara 1947 marks Preity Zinta’s big-screen comeback after an eight-year hiatus following her last theatrical release, Bhaiaji Superhit, in 2018. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced under Aamir Khan Productions, the period drama is set in Lahore against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition of India and features a stellar ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi, and Ali Fazal. Speaking about her return to acting after focusing on her family and children, Preity shared that she thoroughly enjoyed her time away from cinema, but fans are eagerly anticipating her return to the silver screen as the movie prepares for its worldwide theatrical release.
