The corridors of Bollywood are buzzing with excitement as rumors surface of a fresh, unexpected on-screen pairing. According to industry insiders, Tamannaah Bhatia and Junaid Khan (son of superstar Aamir Khan) are currently in talks to headline the next installment of Ekta Kapoor’s famous horror franchise.
While the project has long been associated with the title Ragini MMS 3, latest reports suggest the makers are opting for a slight rebrand, tentatively titling the film “Ragini 3.”
The Ragini MMS franchise, which began in 2011 with Rajkummar Rao and famously featured Sunny Leone in its sequel, has traditionally been known for its blend of “horrex” (horror and erotica). However, sources close to the production indicate that Ragini 3 will pivot toward a more supernatural narrative, potentially leaning into the horror-comedy or psychological thriller space that has dominated the box office recently.
The project has also seen a major shake-up in its creative leadership. While filmmaker Sahir Raza was initially attached to direct, he reportedly stepped away due to scheduling conflicts with a high-priority Netflix series. Taking over the reins is Shashanka Ghosh, the director of the original 2011 hit, marking a “homecoming” for the filmmaker to the franchise he helped launch.
The New Power Duo?
If the casting is finalized, Ragini 3 will mark the first collaboration between Tamannaah Bhatia and Junaid Khan.
Tamannaah Bhatia: The actress has been on a roll with genre-bending roles. She is currently preparing for the release of O’Romeo with Shahid Kapoor and the jungle-horror flick Vvan alongside Sidharth Malhotra.
Junaid Khan: Still one of the most talked-about debutants in the industry, Junaid is awaiting the release of his romantic film Ek Din with Sai Pallavi. Joining a cult horror franchise like Ragini would be a bold career move, showcasing his versatility early on.

Despite the excitement, the road to the silver screen hasn’t been entirely smooth. Recent reports from Variety India suggested the film was temporarily on hold following Raza’s exit. However, with Shashanka Ghosh now reportedly back on board, the project is expected to find its footing again quickly.
