Marvel Studios has officially unveiled the highly anticipated main cast for its upcoming X-Men reboot during the D23 fan event in Anaheim, California. Helmed by director Jake Schreier, the project officially brings the mutant super-team into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Leading the stellar ensemble is Stranger Things star Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, following her subtle debut introduction in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Joining her on stage to announce the iconic lineup was breakout star Inde Navarrette, who has been officially cast as the fan-favorite power-absorbing mutant Rogue. Adding major star power to the project, Oscar nominee Adam Driver is set to play the central antagonist Nathaniel Milbury, better known as the sinister geneticist Mister Sinister.
The rest of the star-studded ensemble includes Kit Connor as the laser-focused mutant leader Scott Summers aka Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as the telepathic mentor Professor Charles Xavier, and Samara Weaving stepping into the role of Emma Frost. Broadway actor Maya Boyd completes the core roster as the weather-manipulating hero Storm. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige teased that the narrative will heavily center around Jean Grey’s journey and her complex dynamic with Mister Sinister as the MCU builds a brand-new foundation for mutantkind. Marking Disney’s first dedicated X-Men feature since acquiring 20th Century Fox, the epic superhero reboot is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on May 5, 2028.
