After Bhumi Pednekar and Randeep Hooda, Guru Randhawa Joins Assam Flood Relief, Donates ₹7 Lakh to Build 35 Homes

Popular Punjabi singer and songwriter Guru Randhawa has extended his humanitarian support toward families devastated by the recent floods in Assam. Following in the footsteps of Bollywood celebrities like Bhumi Pednekar and Randeep Hooda, who previously stepped forward to aid disaster-struck communities, Guru has now partnered with the non-profit organization Sikh Aid Foundation to support long-term rehabilitation. Recognizing that returning to normal life requires secure shelter after floodwaters recede, the hitmaker donated ₹7 lakh to fund the construction of 35 permanent, flood-proof homes. The ongoing housing project specifically targets severely impacted regions in Upper Assam, including Sivasagar, Jorhat, and Nepali Khuti, ensuring that vulnerable households receive durable structures designed to withstand future natural calamities.
This ₹7 lakh contribution marks Guru Randhawa’s second financial commitment toward Assam’s flood relief operations this season. Earlier during the initial peak of the crisis, the artist had donated ₹5 lakh to the Hello Life Foundation, which helped field teams deliver emergency supplies like food packets, clean drinking water, clothes, and vital medicines to displaced residents staying in relief camps. Emphasizing the importance of national unity during severe natural disasters, Guru expressed that citizens across India must stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Assam. His gesture adds to a growing wave of support from the entertainment industry, joining stars such as Salman Khan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Randeep Hooda, alongside popular digital creators Fukra Insaan and Triggered Insaan, who have all contributed toward grassroots relief and rebuilding drives across the state.
The announcement of his charitable effort comes at a moment when Guru Randhawa has also been navigating online discussions regarding his recently released musical track Fine Shyt. Released on August 6, the song’s office-themed video drew criticism from a section of listeners on social media over its portrayal of workplace dynamics. Rather than engaging in public controversies, the singer briefly visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar to seek blessings before addressing his fans with a lighthearted message on social media, urging everyone to maintain a positive outlook while continuing his focus on artistic and charitable work. By prioritizing long-term housing solutions for displaced families in Upper Assam, Guru Randhawa’s partnership with the Sikh Aid Foundation highlights the constructive impact public figures can have when directing attention and resources toward critical relief missions.
